COVID - 19 Protocol

COVID - 19 Update: July 16, 2021

Dear Family and Friends in our Communities:

As we are all learning what the new normal is, we want to be sure to have safety as our number one priority for the families we serve and for our team.  Weaver is dedicated to the community and wants you to be aware of the protocols that we have now updated.

We are implementing procedures to minimize transmission of the coronavirus based on the Province of Ontario’s health guidelines:

  • We ask all guests to use hand sanitizer upon entry. Use it frequently while visiting; the containers are placed conveniently throughout our facilities.  Consistent surface disinfecting including handles, switches, phones, keyboards, pens etc. is completed throughout the day.
  • Masks are required for entry into our facilities.
  • We will not be allowing any post-funeral receptions with food or drink until further notice, which includes our coffee service areas. We will offer this again when it is safe to do so.
  • Any guests that have recently travelled outside of Ontario or by airplane are requested to self-quarantine for the recommended 14-day period and not attend any funeral services. The funeral home may request receipt of a negative COVID test result.
  • We recommend that families making arrangements call ahead. We will be available to assist families; however, we will be keeping our doors locked for screening purposes upon arrival.  We will continue to offer the best service and provide increased communication by phone and email.
  • We are still serving our families 24 hours a day so if any questions arise about procedures or current limitations around services, please contact us.
  • We are encouraging that funeral arrangements be made via telephone, email and limited contact appointments. Families coming in for any administrative purposes are asked to limit the visit to two family members (preferably only one person if possible).

Funeral Ceremonies & Visitation Guidelines

Visitations will be permitted; however, safety comes first.  We will be asking for guests attending visitations to call in advance and guests are required to wear masks.

Families are encouraged to have RSVP lists of families & guests for ceremonies in order to give control of numbers.  This will also allow for continued reporting and tracking of each guest who attends, as required by Provincial Guidelines.  We will work with each family during this process.

Indoor Visitations and Funerals are permitted with capacity restrictions. Please call for more information.

Outdoor services have a maximum attendance of 100 people.

Please know that as the containment measures have been changing daily, our staff will make updates to continue to offer excellent, compassionate service in the care of your families.

Live streaming of services is offered to allow guests who cannot attend the opportunity to grieve as well.  We are still able to produce printed material and videos for keepsakes.

The Weaver Team has been wearing masks during these times and will continue to do so.  It is now mandatory that any guest entering our facilities wears a mask, as per the BAO (Bereavement Authority of Ontario).  Medical grade or cloth masks are sufficient.  Social distancing is still required for both indoor and outdoor services.

Your families are important and we will work with each and every one of you to establish what will best help you in this difficult time.

Delayed Celebration of Life

Please know that we are here to work with the families we have previously served that chose to delay a Celebration of Life. We will continue to assist you if that is something that would help in your healing.

We at Weaver want to thank our communities for your patience during this difficult time.  If we continue to move forward with safety as a priority first and foremost, we will be able to transition back to a more normal format of ceremonies and visitations in the future.  Please feel free to contact us with questions or concerns on any of the above procedures.
